After hearing Mr. Su's last lecture or the "Things I wish I knew before I went into college" speech, a lot of the things I've learned over this year and the three previous seem to coincide quite nicely. SOme things I know I still don't understand and still don't appreciate, but I think some things we can only appreciate when we don't have it. What does a teenager know about the joys of youth? It is the only thing we have experienced, we do not know of old age, and we do not have anything to compare it to.
There was a great quote I heard today which was thus, "Whenever somebody tells me "Life is hard" I always want to ask, "Compared to what?"' It puts a lot of things in perspective. What do we, as high school seniors, know of life or our own choices? We have been told when we can go to the bathroom and what classes we have to take and when to wake up and when to do this and that for the past 18 years. The next few years will just be the beginning of our real life.

It's funny how religious people say they believe when they think they know and atheists say they know when they only believe.
