So here we are....

Fri Jun 5, 2009, 5:57 PM
So here we are... the end of high school. It's been a long and a short four years. It's been a long senior year, but a short one. I know I've done a lot and gone through many things, but it seems not so long ago that it was just beginning. Senior year has been a good year, for many reasons. I've grown as a person and become more secure with who I am, not just what people want me to be. Although sometimes those two are the same thing. But I have learned many things over this year. Enjoy time while it lasts, because you never have enough of it.

After hearing Mr. Su's last lecture or the "Things I wish I knew before I went into college" speech, a lot of the things I've learned over this year and the three previous seem to coincide quite nicely. SOme things I know I still don't understand and still don't appreciate, but I think some things we can only appreciate when we don't have it. What does a teenager know about the joys of youth? It is the only thing we have experienced, we do not know of old age, and we do not have anything to compare it to.

There was a great quote I heard today which was thus, "Whenever somebody tells me "Life is hard" I always want to ask, "Compared to what?"' It puts a lot of things in perspective. What do we, as high school seniors, know of life or our own choices? We have been told when we can go to the bathroom and what classes we have to take and when to wake up and when to do this and that for the past 18 years. The next few years will just be the beginning of our real life.

It's funny how religious people say they believe when they think they know and atheists say they know when they only believe.

Thanks for the watch and the delightful comment! I need to figure out where I'm taking the next scene yet because I only have created one for the second act (and it is still in my brain).
